Let the Interviews Begin!

9/23/18

After the last few intense weeks in ISM, this week was much more relaxed, and actually very fun. This week, I had my first interview with a neuropsychologist. Although I was nervous to meet her at first, once I met her, our conversation flowed so naturally. We discussed so many topics that ranged from the day in the life of a neuropsychologist to her personal research to women in medicine and even to how politics and government fundings shape the industry for research in neurology. I am so grateful for that interview. She was so open about sharing her experiences and gave me so much insight into what goes on in the field.

Although this week was pretty laid back, next week I know I am going to have to be quick on my feet. I will be missing ISM on Thursday for another interview and possibly half of Friday for a neurology presentation for Youth Service America, so I am going to have to work extra hard to finish everything I need on time. Before, I would have freaked out because of missing school and possible having a huge workload. But now since I know what I am capable of handling, I am not too worried about tackling on this week.
