ISM Showcase!!!

1/21/19

Last week in ISM was incredible. Although I was still battling the virus that had affected me from the week prior to last week, I still could not have imagined a greater experience than from last week. On Wednesday January 16th, we had the long awaited ISM showcase. It was amazing; from set up to end, I could not have been more excited. I kind of wished the actual showcase lasted longer though. Speaking to others about my work, educating them about Alzheimer’s disease, hearing other’s stories on how their loved ones dealt with Alzheimer’s disease touched my heart. This experience really made me solidify that this is the area I want to be in and work for. My mentor was able to come to the showcase, which was so heartwarming. Even will he was there, he was teaching me something medical related, and I realized that I want that teacher mentality when I grow up: always spreading knowledge, and encouraging others to learn. My next goal is to come up with my final product, and start preparing for my Original Work speech. I am a little nervous about coming up with another project that I could work on, but I’m sure I will be able to find something. I also am slightly nervous about the speech, because last time I had to wing it a little bit, and I just hope that it goes well this time.
